Andrea Costa’s coffee is grown at Chácara Santo Antônio, a family-run farm in Brazil’s Mogiana region. The land, rich in volcanic soils near Espírito Santo do Pinhal, has been in Andrea’s family since the 1960s and is now managed by Andrea alongside her brother, Luis. Coffee is cultivated at elevations between 800 and 1,100 metres above sea level, where varied microclimates allow each varietal to develop its own distinct character.
This lot features Red Catuai, carefully harvested at peak ripeness before being naturally processed. The cherries are sun-dried on traditional stone patios for around 14 days and turned hourly using wooden rakes to ensure even drying and a clean, consistent cup. As Mogiana’s climate has become warmer and drier over time, this method has proved ideally suited to the region, enhancing the coffee’s hallmark Brazilian sweetness.
