This yellow honey San Roque comes from Finca Chayote, one of several farms owned by the Aguilera brothers in Costa Rica’s West Valley. The twelve Aguilera siblings have decades of experience and a strong focus on coffee varieties and processing. They’re widely respected in Costa Rica for consistently producing expressive, high-quality coffees.
San Roque — also called San Roque Kenia or Kenia — is a natural mutation of SL-28 that first appeared in Costa Rica. Like SL-28, it’s known for lively fruit acidity and a complex flavour often compared to cola. In this yellow honey lot, that bright acidity is balanced with rich sweetness. You can expect flavours of sugar cane, molasses, and brown sugar, along with dark chocolate, sweet spice, and floral notes like jasmine and honeysuckle. It’s juicy, smooth, and leaves a long, satisfying finish.
